We specialize in the development, validation and analytical applications of methods for the qualitative and quantitative determination of biologically active compounds, including low-molecular (drugs, metabolites, toxins, pesticides, products of biochemical synthesis) and high-molecular substances (peptides and proteins). Various chromatographic and mass spectrometry methods are used for this purpose.
Currently, in our laboratory, apart from the analysis of food safety (the content of toxins and metabolites), we are conducting research on identification of new diagnostic and therapeutic targets in the field of cancer, endometrial receptivity and metabolism disorders, as well as related to eye diseases. The research includes the recognition of important elements in the regulation of the immune system, e.g. activation factors of the kynurenine pathway or the role of non-enzymatic modification of proteins by glycation and kynurenine products. For this purpose, we use biochemical and immunochemical methods developed in the laboratory, chromatography and mass spectrometry, as well as cell cultures and animal and human tissues. In cooperation with local and foreign centers, we create new immunochemical (polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies) and analytical tools to learn the role of new glycation products and tryptophan metabolites in animals and humans.
